NOAA Forecast for 10,000 feet.

It is shaping up to a sunny, warm weekend in Telluride with highs in the upper 30’s through Sunday. Hopefully some snow will come into the area early in the week, we definitely need it! There are some great music choices on Friday as well as Saturday and 40 Ounces to Freedom on Wednesday at the Moon. Should be a fun week in town, do your snow dances!

Friday, Jan. 27 – Funkdafari @ The Moon. 9pm. FREE. Local band playing a fusion of funk, reggae, and soul. Awesome show!

Friday, Jan. 27 – Thursday, Feb. 3 – The Fighter @ The Nugget all week. I saw this film and it is AMAZING! One of the best films of the year for sure. Check it out this week, 7:30 nightly. NuggetTheatre.com

Saturday, Jan. 28 – Ski Safety Day. From 11am-3pm on the slopes of Telluride. Starts at the base of lift 4 in Mountain Village. Seems weird that safety day isn’t from 9am-4pm, that’s just me though. I will act accordingly. A local Telluridian was quoted saying, “you can never have enough safety meetings.” I agree fully.

Saturday, Jan.29 – Chris Fish Birthday Party with The Filthy Children @ The Llama. 9pm. FREE. I don’t really know much about this band, but I like their name. I guess they are a funk/rock/jazz group out of Denver. They seem pretty tight with a sweet horn section, always a plus for live music.   FilthyChildren.com

Sunday, Jan. 30 – Latin Night @ The Steaming Bean. $6 Pisco Sours. “Get drunk and dance.” If you have not had a pisco sour, come have a few and enjoy your Sunday evening. Salud!
