Today and yesterday were just about exactly the same at the Bird. One difference was that the today The North Face Masters snowboard event was tearing it up on Silver Fox. The sun was bright and the snow was soft, a combo we have been a bit short on thus far this year.
I spent a good amount of time in Mineral Basin yesterday, since the sun and snow one- two punch was pretty much perfect. The jib line under the MBX chair was super good. The only thing missing was a dozen or so groms jibbing around.
The terrible snow from earlier this week is a distant memory and more snow is forecast for tomorrow night. The finals of the Masters event should be going off tomorrow on North Baldy. Bring yourself and some brats. I will have the grill going again tomorrow. I promise!
This just in the finals of the comp have been moved to Sunday, so hold off on the brats until then…
