I happen to live on Green Lake and until yesterday I had never been skating in my back yard.  As it pissed rain in the valley for three days the snow on the lake turned into two inches of water. Then… my dream came true and the lake froze with a layer of glass at the surface. Leaving the 2 miles of green lake perfect to skate across, from end to end. As soon as I saw someone on the lake I grabbed my skates and ran outside. I ended up skating for three and a half hours until the sun set, and I loved every minute of it.  So if you live in Whistler and are over skiing on ice, maybe try skating (also performed on ice). Before it snows again visit the lakes around town and go for a glide.
