December 23rd at Whistler Blackcomb was a banger of a day. With 13 cm’s of fresh pow haven fallen over night and the winds gusting up to a hundred clicks in the alpine, WB didn’t bother to open the alpine. These circumstances forced us freeriders to ski the lower elevation tree runs, and let me say “It was deep”. With the freezing level staying at valley bottom it made for excellent early season tree laps right to the valley. The video consists of Dominic Melanson, Kye Peterson and myself enjoying these fluffy delights. We’re all anxious to see what happens tomorrow, if the alpine opens it will be epic no doubt! because of the 20 cm’s of pow in the forecast. Merry christmas.
