American Winter Olympians gathered for a media summit do discuss their path to Pyeongchang in Park City and KSL News asked some of the athletes about how they feel about the conflict with North Korea and its potential effect on the games.

It’s hard enough to reach the pinnacle of your sport and compete in the Olympic games but if you couple that with the nerves associated with competing in a country adjacent to one with a unpredictable leader and unknown destructive capabilities, the pressure can almost seem too much.

Winter sporting competitions seems absolutely trivial when you think of the consequences of a conflict in the area and we hope there is a nonviolent resolution and the games can bring peace to the peninsula.
