Loveland Ski Area opens on November 7th.

Loveland Ski Area is officially kicking off its 2026-27 ski season on Saturday, November 7, giving Colorado skiers and snowboarders another opportunity to get back on the mountain this weekend.

The Colorado ski area announced its opening day on Friday, confirming that Chet’s Dream will begin operating at approximately 10 a.m. The resort is offering a special $60 adult lift ticket for opening day in celebration of its 60 years of snowmaking.

Nearly 1,000 Vertical Feet Available

Opening day terrain will include Catwalk, Mambo, and Home Run, providing nearly 1,000 vertical feet of skiing and riding. Chet’s Dream will provide access to the available terrain, giving early-season skiers a chance to get some turns in before more terrain opens as conditions allow.

Loveland’s November 7 opening continues its tradition of being among the first ski areas in Colorado to welcome guests each season. The resort has been working toward opening throughout October, with its snowmaking and mountain operations teams taking advantage of colder temperatures to build an early-season base.

The $60 opening day ticket is also a nod to a major milestone for the mountain. Loveland is celebrating 60 years of snowmaking, a program that has played a significant role in its ability to consistently deliver early-season skiing in Colorado.

Opening Day Celebration Planned

Beyond the skiing and riding, Loveland will celebrate the start of the season with live music on the Basin Patio during the afternoon. The festivities will give guests an opportunity to enjoy the opening-day atmosphere after getting their first turns of the winter.

The resort also took the opportunity to recognize its snowmakers, mountain operations crew, and other employees who helped prepare the mountain for opening day.

With Saturday’s opening, Loveland joins the growing list of North American ski areas welcoming guests for the 2026-27 season. They will be the fourth Colorado ski areas to open for the season, following Arapahoe Basin, Keystone Resort, and Wolf Creek. Wolf Creek opened on October 31st but has been closed since November 1st due to historic flooding.
