Shell, Wyoming — Antelope Butte’s journey has been an unusual one. Closed in 2004, the ski area was revived after years of efforts by a non-profit. In 2020, it finally reopened to skiers and riders. Since then, they’ve seen various successes, some of which have been thanks to the hiring of John DeVivo. The longtime GM of Cannon Mountain moved to Wyoming to help the ski area. Programs like allowing kids ages 17 and under to ski for free contributed to momentous visitation and revenue growth.

After a few years of bringing more life to Antelope Butte, John DeVivo has accepted a position in the Northeast, allowing him to spend more time with his family. As a result, the Wyoming ski area is seeking a new General Manager. If you’re interested, you can submit your resume and cover letter to mwsc@mac.com.

The new General Manager will lead Antelope Butte into a new era. Over the next five years, Antelope Butte plans to fundraise to regrade the Happy Valley beginner trail, move the Pole’R Express carpet lift to the other side of the Happy Valley trail, purchase a winch cat to use on the steeper trails, expand the parking lot, move the ticket office and rental offices, make the basement of the lodge into a seating space, and install restraints onto the chairlifts.

Perhaps the most notable addition would be a lift on the West Side, creating a new intermediate terrain zone for the ski area. You can donate to all of those efforts here.
