12 inches of snow possible in New England.

While significant portions of the west are still struggling to find the snow necessary to open up ski resorts, portions of Vermont and the rest of New England have already been able to enjoy some serious powder, and it looks like that’s not coming to an end anytime soon. According to Meteorologist Chris Tomer‘s most recent forecast, several areas in the East could get a foot or more of snow in the coming days.

The forecast isn’t all that bad for the West. In Colorado, several ski areas including Winter Park, Steamboat, Vail, Loveland, Snowmass, Crested Butte, Telluride, and Purgatory could get around 10 inches of snow, while Silverton and Wolf Creek could see a foot or more. In the Pacific Northwest, areas like Mount Baker and Stevens Pass could see 10 inches while Timberline Lodge could see a foot. Portions of the northern rockies could see between 5-10 inches as well.

In New England, a foot of snow is possible at the summit of Mount Washington and at Jay Peak in Vermont, while Quebec’s Mont Tremblant could see 14 inches. Sugarloaf and Sunday River in Maine could get a healthy 8 inches, while Stowe in Vermont could get 10″. It’s looking to be more of a dusting further south, but still some snow is better than no snow.
