Jay, Vermont — New Hampshire isn’t the only place where you can ski for free this winter. Jay Peak will be offering a free day for skiers and riders this winter, but you’ll need to act quickly on November 11th.

Jay Peak Resort has announced that it’s bringing back its Day to the Devoted event. On November 28th, Jay Peak is offering free tickets to the first 750 people who sign up beforehand. Those interested can obtain one via this link starting at noon on November 11th.

Some of the other festivities planned for November 28th include live music at the Bullwheel Bar, free mini clinics, a free slice of pizza (hopefully not Pineapple) at the Stateside Lodge, and complimentary demos from Never Summer Snowboards. Jay Peak season passholders will also be allowed to shred that day.

The Vermont ski resort is also offering lodging deals for Thanksgiving weekend. Starting at $299 per night, a family of four will receive lodging at Stateside, lift tickets, and access to the indoor waterpark. They’re also offering this at the Hotel Jay, which costs $309 a night.

Jay Peak’s official opening day is scheduled for November 29th. Depending on the weather, the Vermont ski resort could open earlier for a preview weekend or two.

Snowmaking Operations

Last weekend, Jay Peak began snowmaking operations, which were assisted by 6 to 8 inches of natural snowfall at the summit. The snowmaking operations were centered around the Jet terrain pod.

Jay received more snow last night (5-10 inches), and the snowguns are back on. The guns have been hissing today on The Jet and Montrealler trails. They’ll turn off on Friday, but more snowmaking opportunities are expected soon.
