Colorado — The latest indication that ski season isn’t far away is happening this morning in Colorado.

This morning, Arapahoe Basin announced that snowmaking efforts are underway at the Colorado ski area. As of Monday morningSnowguns are blasting on the High Noon trail. Cold temperatures in the evenings throughout this week could help them continue to pile up the snow. Arapahoe Basin lists its opening date as “ASAP.”

Keystone and Loveland also started snowmaking operations this morning, meaning it’s going to be a race to open in Summit County.

However, this doesn’t mean that A-Basin is the first to begin snowmaking operations in Colorado. Snowmaking efforts are also underway at Copper Mountain, which started earlier this month. The difference is that this early push is intended for athletes who will be using the slopes later this month for training. Copper plans to open to the public on November 7th.
