Yesterday into last night was a good series of hours for a bunch of resorts across the western United States, but several resorts in Utah seemed to shine the brightest. Many of them have seen over a foot of snow in the past 24 hours, with a few creeping closer to 20 inches.
The storm isn’t over yet, either, with several inches still forecasted to land throughout the day today (Friday). But if you’re planning where to head in the United States this weekend, one of these five ski resorts who’ve seen the most snow in the past 24 hours would probably serve you well.
Brighton Resort – 16 inches
Brighton Resort recorded 16 inches of snowfall over the past 24 hours, bringing their season total up to 309 inches. Their base depth currently sits at 104 inches, and every lift, trail, and park is open to skiers and snowboarders.
Alta Ski Area – 16 inches
Alta’s 24 hour snowfall total, like Brighton, is up to 16 inches. The past 12 hours alone have brought 5 inches of new snowfall, bringing their season total up to 404 inches and their base at 141 inches. They are certainly not short on snow.
Eagle Point Resort – 17 inches
Utah’s Eagle Point Resort recorded a hearty 17 inches of new snowfall in the past 24 hours. With that snow, their season total is now up to 129 inches and their base sits at 45 inches. They’re expecting another 5 inches in the next 4 days, too.
Sundance Mountain Resort – 18 inches
It’s been a good few days to be at Sundance Mountain Resort. An 18 inch 24 hour total goes along with an impressive 29 inch 48 hour total, bringing the resort’s season total up to 167 inches and base depth up to 76 inches.
Snowbird – 18 inches
Miracle March is proving strong for Snowbird. 18 inches have fallen at the Utah resort in the past 24 hours, with 7 falling overnight. Their seven day total is up to 52 inches, season total is up to 391 inches, and base depth up to 125 inches. Another 1-5 inches are expected throughout the day today as well.
