Several portions of Michigan are currently under either winter storm watches or winter storm warnings, as incoming snow storms threaten to bring up to a foot to the midwest state.

Several portions of Northern Lower Michigan, including Emmet, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Leelanau, Antrim, Otsego, Montmorency, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Crawford, Manistee, Wexford, Missaukee, and Charlevoix counties, are expected to receive up to 8 inches of snow accumulation. The weather is expected to start slow and pick up in intensity late Tuesday night into Wednesday, though the warning is in effect until Thursday evening.

In central and west central Michigan, including the counties of Mason, Lake, Osceola, Oceana, Newaygo, and Muskegon, and the cities of Fremont, Ludington, Muskegon, Reed City, Baldwin, and Hart, between 4 and 12 inches of heavy snow accumulation is possible. The warning is in effect from 7pm Tuesday night through Thursday evening.

The weather is likely to reduce visibility on the roads, in addition to covering them with snow. Roadways, bridges, and overpasses are expected to become rather slick through the storm, and travel could be remarkably difficult to near impossible.
