Haul rope splicing @ Sun Valley
Haul rope splicing @ Sun Valley

Exciting times at Sun Valley Resort in Idaho where crews from Doppelmayr USA are working side by side with resort employees to splice the haul rope for their new Seattle Ridge Chairlift.

When the new detachable six-person Doppelmayr chairlift goes operational, it will increase uphill capacity to the Seattle Ridge area by 20% and improve overall skier circulation and terrain access to this area of Bald Mountain.

Haul rope splicing is serious business and we just want to take a moment shoutout all the professionals that work at Sun Valley, Doppelmayr and across the ski industry who work hard that ensure the chairlifts we depend on are safe and dependable. We appreciate you!

“Seattle Ridge is home to some of Sun Valley’s most beloved intermediate, family-friendly terrain and more recently with the Sunrise expansion, some of its best off-piste terrain. Over the last five years, we’ve been able to increase the skiable terrain serviced by Seattle Ridge chair by over 200 acres, and we believe the chairlift upgrade is coming at the perfect time as we continue our investment in the mountain experience at Sun Valley.” –Pete Sonntag, VP & GM of Sun Valley Resort
