Before my parents really got me to commit most of my winter free time to skiing, I was a big fan of pond hockey and ice skating. It took a fair amount of convincing for me to give those up so I could stay in a small condo every weekend at my local mountain (I don’t regret it at all), but if I had experienced full blown ice waves like the people in this video, I think I’d never want to put on skates again.
What’s truly wild is how calm these folks are. It’s just a normal day for them, I guess…
As for the cause of these waves, well, here ya go! Just a casual military ship breaking ice a few hundred feet away from them. Ya know, normal stuff!
