“Mother Nature brought the snow to Winter Park especially early this year, so we are taking advantage of the conditions and are excited to open the mountain more than a week earlier than expected.” -WP Marketing Director Liz Agostin

Winter Park is celebrating 80 years of operation this winter and they got the celebrations kicked off earlier than expected. Winter Park opened up on Saturday, November 2nd, marking its earliest opening day in 80 years.

The early opening day can be attributed to the over 40 inches of snow the reasort saw in October and the $4 million in upgrades to their snowmaking system made over the summer. KOAA reports Winter Park is offering a special deal later this month. Lift tickets will cost just $40 per person on November 16, with a minimum purchase of two tickets.
