Japan Ski Tours is offering women skiers and snowboarders an eight-day adventure through Japan’s remote Tohoku region in January and February 2027, combining powder skiing, traditional Japanese culture, and hassle-free travel between four Indy Pass partner resorts.
The 8-Day Tohoku Indy Trip is designed for women who want to experience Japan’s legendary snowfall without having to organize transportation, accommodations, and other travel logistics themselves. The retreat is open to skiers and snowboarders of all backgrounds, including those without an Indy Pass.
Four Mountains and Seven Nights in Japan
The trip includes seven nights of accommodation, 14 meals, transportation between four ski resorts, and a dedicated Japan Ski Tours facilitator who accompanies the group throughout the journey. Participants meet at the bullet train before the organized road trip begins.
Rather than functioning as a traditional guided ski tour, the experience allows participants to explore the mountains at their own pace. Travelers can spend their days skiing, resting, exploring local communities, or enjoying other activities without being required to stay together on the slopes.
The retreat also incorporates opportunities to connect with other women who share an interest in skiing and travel. Optional activities include yoga sessions led by a certified instructor, game nights, happy hours, and casual evening gatherings.
Beyond skiing, the itinerary emphasizes the cultural experiences that make traveling through Japan unique. Accommodations blend Japanese, Western, and fusion styles, with in-house hot springs providing great opportunities to unwind after long days on the slopes.
2027 Dates and Pricing
There are two trips currently listed for the 2027 season. The January trip runs from January 8th through 15th, while the February departure runs from February 5th through 12th.
The price for Indy Pass members is ¥410,000, approximately $2,580. Standard guests pay ¥460,000, approximately $2,900. Both prices include taxes, fees, and lift tickets. Indy Pass members receive a discounted rate because they can use their passes for skiing at participating resorts.
Not included in the trip are international flights, the Indy Pass itself, ski or snowboard rentals, ski guiding, transportation to and from the designated pickup and drop-off locations, snacks, drinks, lunches, or travel insurance. Japan Ski Tours recommends purchasing travel insurance through World Nomads.
As a customer of Japan Ski Tours myself, I really can’t recommend this organization enough. Their trips are incredibly well designed, and ski trips in Japan are really quite unbelievable. If the Women’s Ski Retreat doesn’t sound like the best option for you, I highly recommend checking out their many other organized trip options. If you’re not feeling a road trip, make sure you check out Anaba Lodge for a great stay at a remote, powder filled ski area.
