The 2026 men’s Red Bull Rampage competition ended without a winner after extreme weather forced organizers to cancel the remainder of the event in Virgin, Utah. The competition was supposed to celebrate the event’s 25th anniversary, but dangerous winds brought the action to an early end on Saturday, October 10th.

Seventeen riders were scheduled to compete at the original Red Bull Rampage venue where athletes built massive lines across the rugged desert terrain. However only nine riders completed their first full runs before conditions became too dangerous to continue.

High Winds Force Red Bull Rampage to End Early

Strong winds associated with nearby storms intensified late in the morning, with gusts reaching more than 20mph at times. Organizers ultimately decided that continuing the competition would pose too great a risk to riders, staff, and spectators. With the competition called off before every rider could complete a run, organizers did not crown an overall men’s champion or award a podium.

Before the cancellation, Poland’s Szymon Godziek had delivered one of the day’s standout performances with a run that included a double-drop to canyon gap, a steep chute, and several major tricks. Judges awarded him a score of 90, putting him in first place when the competition was halted.

“I’m lucky my first run went well, and I was ready to go up again and add more stuff into my run. I’m happy to go home in one piece, and this Red Bull Rampage was the biggest challenge of my life.” – Szymon Godziek

Red Bull Rampage Rider Awards Still Presented

Although the men’s competition ended without a winner, several individual awards were still presented to recognize the riders’ performances and contributions. British rider Kade Edwards earned the Best Style award in his Red Bull Rampage debut. The 26-year-old combined downhill racing speed with creative tricks and technical features throughout his run.

French rookie Paul Couderc received the Utah Sports Commission Best Trick Award for his Flat Drop Backflip. Spain’s Bienvenido Aguado Alba earned the BFGoodrich Tires Toughness Award after crashing during a Flat Spin 360, while Carson Storch received the rider-voted McGazza Spirit Award for his support of fellow competitors.
