Aspen Snowmass announced Monday that the resort will celebrate its 80th anniversary this winter with a weekend of throwback pricing, including $3.75 lift tickets on December 14th. The price matches what guests paid for a lift ticket when Aspen Mountain first opened in 1946.
The announcement confirms what was first uncovered by skiers online and was reported by us last week.
The $3.75 Aspen Lift Ticket Is Real
The $3.75 tickets will be valid on December 14th, the anniversary of Aspen Mountain’s founding. The resort is also offering $80 lift tickets on December 12th and 13th, giving skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to build an unusually inexpensive three-day weekend at one of the country’s most famous ski destinations.
The tickets provide access to Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass. Quantities will be limited because of mountain capacity, and Aspen Snowmass expects the discounted tickets to sell quickly.
More Than Cheap Skiing
The anniversary weekend will feature special on-mountain programming from December 11th through December 14th, including après parties and other experiences that will be announced later.
Four Mountain Sports will offer $80 Premium rental packages, while on-mountain dining locations will feature $19.46 food and beverage specials. The resort will also release limited-edition 80th anniversary apparel. The weekend will coincide with the 75th anniversary of Wintersköl, adding another major milestone to the celebration.
The $3.75 lift tickets are on sale now, but quantities are extremely limited so act fast if you hope to grab one.
