Skiers and snowboarders in New Zealand will have at least an extra week to enjoy the slopes this spring after Cardrona Alpine Resort announced that it is extending its 2026 season through October 18th.
The popular South Island ski resort had previously listed October 11 as its tentative closing date for the 2026 winter season.
Spring Multi Day Passes Available
Along with the extended season, Cardrona is promoting spring lift ticket deals for visitors planning to spend multiple days on the mountain.
The resort said its Spring Multi Day Pass is available starting at $105 per day, giving skiers and snowboarders an opportunity to add more days to their spring trip.
Cardrona is one of New Zealand’s best known ski destinations and is located in the country’s Southern Alps. The mountain’s normal winter season stretches into the Southern Hemisphere spring, making late season skiing an important part of its annual calendar.
More Time on the Mountain
For skiers and snowboarders hoping to squeeze every possible day out of the 2026 season, the extension offers another opportunity to chase spring turns before Cardrona closes for winter.
With the new closing date set for October 18th, there is now even more time to get back on the mountain and enjoy New Zealand’s spring skiing season.
