Located just 25 miles north of Durango, Colorado along the spectacular Million Dollar Highway, Purgatory Ski Resort known for being “Close to Heaven, Fun as Hell” is hosting the final race of the Mountain State Cup mountain biking series this weekend and spectators are encouraged to come out and enjoy the show. Purgatory has been part of downhill racing in Colorado for decades and it’s where the Mountain State Cup chooses to come to close out the year.

“Fast, physical, and the only round where series titles are decided on the hill. Four rounds. One weekend. Everything on the line.” -Mountain State Cup

If you are interested in the best possible view opportunities consider signing up as a course marshal for the weekend. Have fun, be safe!

Course Marshals Signup Information

What course marshals do?

Course marshals are the eyes of the racetrack. Each marshal is stationed at a point along the downhill course with clear sight lines, watching their section and signaling riders and race control when the track needs attention.

They are the closest anyone gets to the racing without being on a bike.

Marshals are an instrumental piece of the race, and we have great appreciation for the people helping out.
