BOLTON VALLEY, Vermont – Bolton Valley Resort has announced a major leadership transition as the independently owned Vermont ski area prepares for its next chapter. The changes come as the DesLauriers family continues to guide the resort while launching its first major real estate development in more than three decades.
The leadership restructuring keeps the DesLauriers family closely involved while bringing in an experienced executive to oversee daily operations ahead of Bolton Valley’s upcoming 60th winter season.
New CEO Takes the Helm
Lindsay DesLauriers is stepping down from her role as President and CEO and will become Chair of the Board while taking on a strategic position focused on long term growth and development. According to the resort, she will remain responsible for identifying new opportunities, leading major development efforts, and carrying forward the vision established by her father Ralph DesLauriers, who built Bolton Valley nearly 60 years ago.
Taking over as President and CEO is Tara Murphy, a Vermont business leader with more than 30 years of executive leadership experience. Murphy has worked as a consultant for Bolton Valley for over a year and will now oversee day to day operations while helping guide the resort through its next phase of growth.
The executive team will also include Evan DesLauriers, who has been promoted to Vice President. He will continue leading resort operations, strategic initiatives, and long term planning. General Manager Nick Lemire will remain in charge of daily mountain operations and guest experience. Lemire said Murphy’s appointment positions Bolton Valley for continued long term success after a decade of steady growth.
Nordic Peaks Development Marks a New Era
One of Lindsay DesLauriers’ first priorities in her new strategic role will be overseeing Nordic Peaks, the first major construction project at Bolton Valley in more than 30 years. The planned neighborhood will include 32 condominiums and townhomes designed to expand slopeside lodging while supporting the resort’s long term vision for sustainable growth.
DesLauriers described the groundbreaking as a landmark milestone for the family, noting that the project reflects nearly a decade of work since the family regained ownership of the mountain. She also praised Murphy’s leadership experience and expressed excitement about working alongside her brother Evan and General Manager Nick Lemire as Bolton Valley enters its next phase.
Murphy said she has been impressed by the passion of Bolton Valley’s employees during her time consulting for the resort and is committed to protecting the mountain’s culture while continuing to invest in its future.
Family Ownership Remains at the Core
While leadership titles are changing, Bolton Valley emphasized that the DesLauriers family’s commitment to the resort remains unchanged.
Evan DesLauriers said the new leadership structure gives the resort a strong foundation heading into its 60th season. He credited Lindsay DesLauriers with leading Bolton Valley to its current position and said Murphy’s broad business background will be a valuable asset as the independently owned ski resort continues to evolve.
Located in Vermont’s Green Mountains, Bolton Valley has built a reputation as one of New England’s few remaining family operated ski resorts. The mountain is known for its night skiing, backcountry access, Nordic trails, mountain biking, lodging, and year round outdoor recreation while maintaining an independent identity in an industry increasingly dominated by large resort operators.
