Mikaela Shiffrin didn’t let her formal attire keep her from a little juggle session with her fiancé and fellow ski racer Aleksander Aamodt Kilde at the ESPY Awards ceremony. The skiing power couple kept it loose before the show and Shiffrin managed to get 7 touches on the ball after hiking up her gold RETROFÊTE dress and hopping around in her Christian Louboutin high heels.
Shiffrin was nominated for Women’s Sports Best Athlete following her slalom gold medal at the Milan Cortina Olympics and a record-tying sixth overall World Cup skiing title in March. She was up against WNBA superstar A’ja Wilson, world No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda and hockey phenom Hilary Knight. Wilson ultimately took home the award but space it tight for new hardware on Shiffrin’s mantel so she won’t have to go through the trouble of rearranging trophies.
If you are wondering when the alpine royal couple will tie the knot, don’t hold your breath. Shiffrin confirmed they are not currently wedding planning. Although they are both ski racers, their schedules are hectic in the winter and they rarely see each other during the competition season. This summer they plan on enjoying each other’s company as they train and will likely figure out when to get hitched when one of them retires.
