Wingsuit flying is one of the deadliest sports in the world, with athletes frequently pushing the limits of what’s possible with every jump. A newer trend within the community is pushing the limits even further, abandoning the wingsuit for a carpet. And yes, it does look quite a bit like something out of Aladdin.
The jump below features pilots Vincent Cotte and Freddy Montigny as they fly through the air on their carpets. Freddy is one of the guys truly pushing the limits of the magic carpet flying. If you’ve seen a video of the sport in the past, there’s a good chance it was one of him.
It’s not exactly clear if these are just regular carpets with modifications or completely original designs, but either way it’s important to remember that these are hgihly experienced professionals and this is absolutely not something you should try at home. Both pilots landed safely with the help of their attached parachutes.
