PeakRankings provide some tips to find some ski and snowboard buddies.

Finding your people on the mountain is easier than you think, and PeakRankings has some practical ideas worth hearing. If you want to go on a ski or snowboard trip but don’t know anyone who would join you, a good first step is searching your local area for an established club or group.

Most cities have organizations built around various hobbies to facilitate community, and skiing and snowboarding are no exceptions. These groups often use Facebook or Instagram to spread the word and tend to be welcoming by nature, making it easy to connect with like-minded people and join organized outings.

But not every community will have a dedicated ski club, especially if you live far from mountains or a proper winter climate. In that case, it makes sense to look into any outdoor recreation group near you.

Hiking, biking, camping, or climbing communities may not have skiers in them, but they are full of people who enjoy the outdoors, like to challenge themselves physically, and are willing to spend money doing it. Suggest a ski trip to that crowd and you may be surprised how many people hop on board.

Then there is the scenario where you have already tried solo skiing a time or two out of sheer passion for the sport. If you are already heading to the mountain alone, it might be worth putting yourself out there more directly.

Whatever resort you visit will almost certainly have a Facebook group, a Reddit community, or some other forum attached to it. Post on the day you are going and ask if anyone wants to ride together. It is a low-effort move that can pay off in a big way.
