If you’re feeling like you need to get out and ski for one or two more days before you call it a year and are hoping to take advantage of your Indy Pass one last time, know that you’ve got 5 ski areas in North America where you can still do that even though it’s almost May. Some of these ski areas are celebrating their closing days this upcoming weekend, so be sure to act fast.
Black Mountain, New Hampshire – Closing date TBD
New Hampshire’s Black Mountain is still keeping the skiing going 7 days a week until April 26th. After the 26th, they’ll be flipping to a Saturday and Sunday operating schedule for as long as possible. Right now their event schedule has spring skiing running through Memorial Day, with an on-mountain celebration planned for the long weekend, but there’s no guarantee they’ll last that long.
Jay Peak, Vermont – Closing date TBD
Spring skiing is still going strong at Jay Peak in Vermont, one of just a handful of resorts still open in the state. Right now, Jay is expecting to keep skiing and riding into the weekend of May 9th and potentially beyond, if conditions allow. 8 of 9 lifts are still open along with 21 of 83 trails.
Loveland Ski Area, Colorado – Closing April 26th
Colorado skiers and snowboarders looking to support the Colorado Avalanche Information Center should head to Loveland Ski Area to participate in their 25th Annual Corn Harvest Benefit Ski Party set for the final Saturday of the winter, celebrating the season and supporting a good cause while celebrating the final few days of the ski season. 4 of 10 lifts are spinning with 41 of 94 trails open to skiers and snowboarders.
Norway Mountain, Michigan – Bonus day April 25 and more TBD
Despite a warm week doing some proper damage to the snow at Michigan’s Norway Mountain, skiing on Elf and Von will be available on Saturday, April 25th, for a bonus day. There could be more in the weekends ahead, but we won’t know until the week before.
White Pass Ski Area, Washington – Open April 25th & 26th to end the season
Washington’s White Pass Ski Area is currently closed, but they’re reopening this Saturday and Sunday for one final weekend of skiing and snowboarding. Great White, 4 the Birds, Basin and Couloir will be running for the final two days of the season from 8:45am to 2pm. Plus a Yeti Hunt will go down on Sunday with the chance to win a free, unrestricted ski pass for the 2026/2027 season.
