LITTLE COTTONWOOD CANYON– Tragic news out of Utah where a hiker on Mount Superior fell to their death on Thursday. According to the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office the unidentified hiker was on the south ridge of Mount Superior in Little Cottonwood Canyon when they suffered the fatal fall.

Search and rescue crews were dispatched to the area and were able to locate the hiker who was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Upon arrival, search and rescue crews quickly surveyed the area and located the individual. The hiker is believed to have fallen a significant distance and was pronounced deceased at the scene.” -Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office

The body was been removed from the mountain and the sheriff’s office is attempting to notify the hiker’s next of kin. We will be sure to update when more information becomes available. Our thoughts are with the victims family and friends.
