Ski-specific exercise.
Ski-specific exercise.

When it comes to getting ready for the ski season, nothing is quite as important as preparing your body. That means mobility training, cardio, and weight training, to ensure that you can go injury free and stay happy all season long. A major part of that training should include individual leg workouts, like the exercise below, to ensure that both legs are strong enough for the season ahead.

This is just one of many ski-specific exercises that’ll will prepare you for the winter. Other workouts to consider include one-legged Romanian deadlifts, Bulgarian split squats, and kettlebell squats. Working your core through exercise is also important to preparing for the season, so engage in some Russian twists, planks, side planks, and anything else that will get your core fired up.

Outdoor Adventure Training is a great resource for finding different workouts to prepare you for several mountain sports, including skiing and hiking. They have everything from pure body-weight based workouts to weighted workouts for the gym.
