Colorado’s Winter Park Resort is set to host an amateur ski ballet competition in November, giving everyone the rare opportunity to show off their slope-side dancing skills with the chance to win a $1,000 prize on November 15th, 2025.

The competition will have a kids section (ages 8-15) and an adult section (16+). Standard skis and helmets are required while poles are optional. Ski ballet participants can compete alone or in groups of two or three, and each routine must be no longer than 30-60 seconds. No substitutions are allowed and there will be no performance outside of assigned time slots.

HOW was this an Olympic sport? Ski ballet!

A panel of three judges will be determining ski ballet scores based on style & flow, creativity & originality, entertainment value, and retro/costume spirit. There will be additional recognition for the most stylish routine and the best musical choreography, as well.

First place finishers will win $1,000, 2nd place will win $500, and 3rd place will win $250. Registration is required to compete and can be completed here. More information, including the day of schedule, is available here.
