Ski gear is safer and faster, and ski clothing is more comfortable. It’s also become significantly more expensive. The era saw the arrival of safer bindings and metal skis, giving more speed and control on the mountain. At the same time, safety straps, leather mittens, and rope tows were still a frequent sight.
