Cheers to Trollhaugen Ski Resort in Dresser, Wisconsin who hosted their 20th anniversary Rail Jam last weekend thanks to massive pile of snow saved up since last March.
For six months the snow stash laid in wait under tarps to be spread out on the Tomtebakken Terrain Park for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy. At its highest, the pile stood 30 feet. By the time the annual event came around it had dwindled to 10 feet, still more than enough to keep the over 330 skiers and snowboarders happy during the two day celebration.
If you weren’t lucky enough to make it Dresser on October 4th and 5th, you can still enjoy some of the fun with this amazing recap video of the event.
“The 20th Anniversary of the Open Haugen Rail Jam is a wrap, and yea, weโre gonna need a few days (or weeks) to process all of the amazing things that just occurred. Thank you to everyone that made the weekend so special. Thank you to everyone that made the weekend so special. The sponsors, the build crew, the humans on snow, WE LOVE YOU ALL!”
No word yet on when Trollhaugen plans to open for the winter but we wish them another successful season when they do and celebrate all the ingenuity and effort it takes to preserve snow and throw these unforgettable early season events. SKรL!
