You may associate October in Vermont with leaf peeping season but sometimes the Green Mountain State gets an early dose of winter before Halloween and we want to thanks the folks at Ski The East for reminding us so.

The following footage was taken Ski The East director of sales and marketing Jake Whitlock who hiked up Mount Mansfield to score some mid-October turns on the legendary slopes of Stowe Mountain resort last year.

The short-term forecast in Stowe doesn’t call for anything below freezing but lets keep our fingers crossed because conditions can turn quick and there is still time for early season storm to allow making turns amongst the vibrant fall foliage.

No official announcement on when Stowe will start spinning lifts for the 2025/2026 ski season but they kicked it off on November 17th last year running the The FourRunner Quad providing 40 acres of skiable terrain including Upper Lord, Ridgeview, Lower Ridgeview, Lord, North Slope, and Lower North Slope. Think snowy thoughts and we will be sure to update when they announce opening day.
