Snowguns tend to make an impression on those who go past them, especially at the snowmaking capital of the world. The loud hisses are a beloved sound in the Northeast due to being basically their main source of snowpack. So what does the fox snowmaking gun say?
In a friendly competition, Hunter Mountain Resort asked department members what their best impression of the snowmaking gun was. The best impression was made by a member of the Lift Maintenance team, who used a water bottle to illustrate how water rises into the air. Not gonna lie, I’m about as serious as that food critic in Ratatouille, and the impression from Lift Maintenance got a good laugh out of me.

If you’re looking to make a trip to Hunter this fall or enjoy a lot of beer, Hunter will be hosting its famous Oktoberfest over three weekends in September and October. Some of the festivities will include local craft beers, various food options, scenic lift rides, and more.
After that, Hunter workers will be getting those snowguns ready to make sounds similar to their impressions.
