After two years in the making, the Armada ORNADA ski film has finally dropped its long-awaited trailer, officially kicking off what promises to be the most anticipated ski movie of 2025. Released on September 15, ORNADA blends freeski progression and surreal cinematography. However, this is more than just your average ski flick. With the inclusion of live music and interactive art into an immersive premiere experience Ornado is redefining what a ski film premiere can be.
What is Armada’s “ORNADA”?
ORNADA is the culmination of Armada’s two-decade-long influence on freeski culture. Directed by Phil Casabon and Corey Stanton, the film is described as a dreamlike journey where past and future collide. Showcasing Armada’s legendary athletes alongside the next generation of talent you can expect the full spectrum of skiing. From steep Alaskan spines to raw Quebec street lines, and jaw-dropping park sessions in Riksgränsen clips will be woven together in a unique blend of experimental storytelling and artistic visuals.
The cast is a mix of Armada icons and rising stars, including Tanner Hall, Henrik Harlaut, Sammy Carlson, Phil Casabon, Olivia Asselin, Quinn Wolferman, Rell Harwood, and more. Casabon describes it best: “The all-mighty Armada mothership assembles a never-before-seen cast — blending OGz with legendz in the making — to redefine the creative rhythm of freeski cinema.”
Worldwide Armada ORNADA Ski Film Premiere Tour and Live Experience
What sets ORNADA apart isn’t just the skiing—it’s the entire premiere experience. Armada is rolling out five major live show stops packed with extras:
- Salt Lake City, UT – October 25
- Newport Beach, CA – October 26
- Innsbruck, Austria – October 31
- New York City, NY – November 13
- Quebec City, Canada – November 14
Each of these select screenings will feature a live soundtrack performed by a seven-piece NYC-based band, plus interactive art installations, photography exhibits, and live painting. The goal? To turn ski film premieres into cultural events that fuse skiing, music, and art.
After the tour, more than 50 additional screenings worldwide will bring the film to skiers everywhere, before ORNADA releases online in mid-December. Full tour details are available at Armada’s official site.
