Granby, Colorado — The clock is officially ticking for people who are thinking about buying an Indy Pass for next winter.
Today, the Indy Pass announced that Thursday, September 18th, is the final day for the public to purchase a pass for the 2025-26 season. After that, the pass will go off sale. This is in order to not overcrowd the mountains that are participating in the pass.
“We were able to release additional passes this month due to our significant resort additions this summer, along with the increased capacity that they will provide. But we have now reached our projected pass limit,” said Erik Mogensen, the Managing Director of the Indy Pass. “We’re not going to compromise the sport and culture of independent skiing by prioritizing profit over our passholders. We need to safeguard the welcoming and uncrowded on-mountain experiences they offer. That’s why it’s going off sale Thursday.”
New Partners
The Indy Pass has also announced the addition of more partners for this upcoming winter. Donner Ski Ranch, the mom-and-pop ski area near Lake Tahoe, is joining the pass. In addition, Pennsylvania’s Montage Mountain, which previously announced that it wouldn’t be on Indy this upcoming winter, has reached an agreement to rejoin the pass. The other additions include Kaunertaler Gletscher in Austria, Magic Mountain Resort in Idaho, Leavenworth Ski Hill in Washington, and Kartalkaya Dorukkaya Ski Resort in Turkey. This means that Indy has added 48 new resorts across 14 partners compared to last season.
Learn To Turn Pass
The $189 Learn to Turn Pass is also adding new partners, which include Idaho’s Kelly Canyon and Colorado’s Sunlight Mountain Resort. This pass, which now features 39 partner resorts, includes three days of tickets, rentals, and lessons. A key distinction is that this pass will be available to purchase until December.
“We are stoked about the initial response to the Learn to Turn program and the support from our resort partners and passholders alike,” said Doug Fish, the Indy Pass Founder. “The Indy community is responding in a big way by encouraging newcomers to join and grow the sport we all know and love.”
Indy License Plates
Indy Pass also announced that its “License Plate Club” program is coming to an end. After announcing free passes for anyone who was able to add an Indy Pass message to their license plate, almost 500 people took them up on the offer.
