It might not be knee deep blower pow but at this stage of game even a dusting of snow is enough to get skiers and snowboarders fired up for winter 2025/2026. Colorado’s Arapahoe Basin received a light dusting of snow yesterday September 13th, 2025 and posted the following video celebrating the trace accumulation.
“East Wall open? Nope! But it did snow and we are feeling GOOD about this first sign of winter! We will open for the 25/26 season ASAP all weather and conditions dependent. Let the games begin.” -Arapahoe Basin

Just to be clear, A-Basin advises the actions performed in the above video were done by a professional and ask they as folks do not come to A-Basin with your skis or snowboard prior to opening day (they have not announced when that will be yet). Arapahoe Basin COO Alan Henceroth had this to say about the early season dusting:
“Okay, I promise the weather does look good for tomorrow, but we also saw our first snow of the year today. It might have been a cold day for our via ferrata goers, but it sure does get me excited for ski season.” -Arapahoe Basin COO Alan Henceroth
