Adams, Wisconsin — Across the Midwest are hundreds of abandoned ski areas. If you want to reopen one of them, there is the Skyline Ski Area in Adams, Wisconsin.

Despite it being abandoned for over two decades, Skyline hasn’t been overrun by brush and trees. The buildings don’t appear to be in bad shape either, although a new owner would likely want to demolish and replace them. While some of the trails have grown back in, it likely wouldn’t take a monumental effort to revive them. However, new lifts would likely be needed.

In a video from Peter Brooks from Skiers and Snowboarders of the Midwest, he shares what remains of Sklyline Ski Area. Its’ interesting to see how the buildings are in decent shape, and some runs remain visible.

The ski area is still for sale, and the listing can be viewed here. It’s currently priced at just under $2 million, but I imagine you can negotiate that number down a bit.
