As the saying goes “close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades” and that is certainly true for mountain biking gaps jumps. Happy to report that Swiss rider Alex Blanar was okay after this failed attempt at a 69 foot road gap jump at a ski resort in his home country. His bike did not fair so well but equipment can be replaced. After coming up short by the slimmest of bargains Blanar was asked if he would make a second attempt with a bit more speed, his response “maybe.”
