Massive mammoth sculpture at Mammoth Mountain.

Chris Benchetler has been sharing a consistent behind-the-scenes look at his upcoming project Mountains of the Moon set to come out this fall and it’s already looking unbelievable. The “Ship of Fools” series has covered everything from the climbing and skiing to the diving and surfing set to be featured in the movie, and the most recent episode covers the incredible involvement from Mammoth Mountain in California.

In order to get some of the most unique night shots filmed on a ski resort, Benchetler and crew managed to get a snow sculptor to build a massive 50×50 foot sculpture of a mammoth with a jump right before it. Then once the night came around they lit it up with projections and colors, creating a truly trippy set of shots. We can’t wait to see this wild sculpture in action when the movie is released.
