Unhinged man attacks mountain bikers.
Unhinged man attacks mountain bikers.

A disturbing assault was captured on video by a 15-year-old mountain biker and his friend who were enjoying a rainy day cruising around the Whistler Mountain Bike Park on June 27th when they were approached by a what can only be described as an unhinged man. Brody Walker and Alex Knab where taking in the scenery on a bridge when the unidentified man purposely bumped into them and began berating the boys.

The boys were confused by the man’s aggressive behavior and attempted to deescalate the situation but the unnamed attacker ratcheted up the already tense situation and tossed one of the boys’ bikes into the river below. The man walked away temporarily but returned and physically attacked one of the boys before being swiftly kicked in the groin which was justifiable self-defense given the situation.

The man acknowledged the kick and somehow changed the subject to the recent cougar encounters at Whistler:

“You know there’s a cougar around here. A cougar is chasing people. I don’t know that cougar but watch yourself boys.”

There are hundreds of comments on the video across various social media platforms with some identifying the attacker as a familiar face at Whistler Bike Park which may help authorities to bring him to justice. Whistler Bike Park are aware of the incident and promise they are taking appropriate actions.

“Our team has been in contact with all three individuals involved and appropriate measures will be taken in response to this unacceptable incident. The safety of our guests is our top priority.”
