All the pieces are in place for Perisher Ski Resort to debut their new 6-person chairlift that will deliver skiers and snowboarders to Australia’s highest lifted point (6,696 feet) except one crucial component, snow.

Perisher is in a holding pattern to start spinning the new $26 million Mt Perisher 6 which will provide guests a 44% faster ride time and access intermediate and advanced terrain. The Doppelmayr 6-pack is full working order as final tests were completed in May and now they playing the waiting game for the snowpack to fill in sufficiently to cut the ribbon for the first 6 guests to give it a spin.

Perisher kicked off winter 2025 operations early this month and have had a strong start to the season. They happy to announce Blue Cow is opening this Saturday, June 21st but there is no current timeline for the debut Perisher 6. We will be sure to update when the new lift makes it debut.
