Cheers to all the skier and snowboarders who came out to Copper Mountain on May 3rd to participate in their 3rd annual Slush Rush relay race. While many ski resorts spring celebrations are limited to pond skims and costume contests, Copper decided a few years back to start a team event combining winter skills with a spring twist.
Teams of three battled for the quickest overall timed run in a multi-stage relay race. The course included a superpipe slalom, a banked slalom course where athletes were required to hold a full mug of Gatorade and was capped off with mini terrain park and an ice-cold pond skim over the finishing line.
Winners received a 2025-26 Season Pass to Copper and the names etched on the Slush Rush Trophy. Check out the recap video, this looks like a hoot.

Team Format:
- 3 people per team, minimum age 12 years
- Maximum 70 teams
- Any gender and discipline (ski/snowboard/snowblades – no ski bikes)
- Costumes encouraged
Course Format:
- Subaru Superpipe Slalom | Get around all the gates, which are set in the 22′ Superpipe walls, quickly!
- Nokian Tyres Cross Course | Speed is the name of the game. Navigate the banked turns while *steadily* holding a full mug of Gatorade.
- YETI Rails & Pond Skim | Show off a buttery rail slide, trick on a medium size jump, & make it across the ice-cold pond skim (bonus points for the best trick!)
Competition Format:
- The team with the quickest overall timed run, after the judge’s points and course penalties, will be named on the perpetual Slush Rush Trophy! Plus, you will each be awarded a medal and the grand prize of a 2025-26 Season Pass. *If you’re already a Season Pass holder, you can choose to upgrade your pass with a Fast Tracks Season Pass.
- Second place team members will be awarded Four Pack + Bonus Day Passes & a medal. *If you’re already a Four Pack Pass holder, you can choose to upgrade your pass with four single-day Fast Tracks access.
- Third place team memberswill be awarded one single-day lift ticket & a medal. *If you don;t want the comp ticket, you can choose one single-day Fast Tracks access.
- The individual athlete with the best trick in the YETI Rails & Pond Skim section, based on the judge’s decision, will be awarded a YETI Hopper Flip cooker & a medal.
- The team with the best costumes, based on the judge’s decision, will each be awarded a Four Pack + Bonus Day Pass, a GoPro HERO13 Black, & a medal.
