Phoenix Parks and Recreation has implemented multiple trail restrictions and closures due to extreme heat conditions in the Arizona city.

Between 8am and 5pm every day until Friday, June 20, hiking will be prohibited at Echo Canyon and Cholla Trail ⁣⁣⁣at Camelback Mountain, Piestewa Peak Summit Trail and associated trails ⁣⁣⁣at Phoenix Mountains Preserve, and Holbert Trail, Mormon Trail, Hau’Pal Loop Trail, and access to the National Trail from the Pima Canyon Trailhead ⁣⁣⁣at South Mountain Park and Preserve.

Hiking is completed prohibited at the above locations between 8am and 5pm, though the city strongly discourages hiking on any Phoenix trail during that time period. Avoid hiking during excessive heat, and make sure you’re prepared for high temperatures when heading outside.
