Madison Rose Ostergren summer ski rescue mission @ Jackson Hole
Madison Rose Ostergren summer ski rescue mission @ Jackson Hole

Professional skier and Jackson Hole local Madison Rose Ostergren lost one of her favorite skis this winter after it came off on impact jumping off a 40 foot cliff and landing on hard pack.

Ostergren returned to the scene several times over the winter with metal detector to search for her beloved ski but came up short. Determined to retrieve her Volkl Shiro, she waited for the snow to melt and hiked up to the spot hoping it to find it.

Her persistence paid off as the Shiro was waiting high and dry and she triumphantly reunited with it. Well done!

  1. I lost one ski in powder Palisades a few years ago. Customer Service took my info and said we find stuff allsummer when the snow melts. Sure enough 3 months later they called and said they found it! Then paid to ship it to me. I still ski on it! What great customer service.

  2. Awesome! I lost a ski in Colorado backcountry. Made it out on one ski. 6 months later my friend found it and sent it to me in CT. I still have those Olin Mark IVs. They now grace my mailbox
