Next winter marks yet another rendition of the Winter Olympics with the international event set to take place in and around the mountains of Italy. Milano Cortina 2026 will be full of remarkable events, including ski mountaineering for the first time, but we’re most excited for the ski and snowboard competitions.
With that said, 4 athletes from the Stifel U.S. Ski Team (two from Freeski, two from Freestyle) have officially qualified for the 2026 Winter Olympics. In the halfpipe, Alex Ferreira earned his slot after ending the 2024/25 season of seven events with two victories and seven podiums. His biggest victory of the past season came at the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix in Aspen, Colorado, his home town.
In the slopestyle, 2022 Olympic gold medalist Alex Hall is returning to defend his title and compete in the big air. 2026 will be his 3rd Winter Olympic Games, earning his slot after winning two World Cups, a World Championship medal and the slopestyle Crystal Globe during the 2024/25 season.
For the Freestyle team, Olympic silver medalist Jaelin Kauf has qualified in both in moguls and dual moguls. She had a remarkable 2024/25 season, earning 14 consecutive podiums (8 of which were 1st place) beginning in Bakuriani, Georgia, in mid-December. She won three FIS Freestyle Crystal Globes, moguls, dual moguls and the overall, at the end of the season.
Two-time world champion Quinn Dehlinger has also earned a spot in the 2026 Olympics in ariels. Dehlinger was out for most of the 2023-24 season due to an injury, but he came back stronger than ever. He took his first ever win on home snow at the 2025 Intermountain Health Freestyle International presented by Stifel and the World Cup season ranked sixth in the world. At the World Championships, Dehlinger performed well and clinched his spot on his first ever Olympic team.
