Canaan Valley, West Virginia — For those planning a ski trip to West Virginia and also want to be close to the action, there’s a great new overnight rental property that’s worth considering.

WBOY reports that the Valley View Cabin Resort held its ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 30th. Technically, some of these cabins opened up in December, but the ribbon-cutting was done to celebrate what’s been accomplished so far, and also gave them a chance to host a party in a warmer environment.

The eleven existing units are a mix of one and two-bedroom chalets. These cabins come with a controllable gas fireplace, a large bathroom, a kitchen with modern appliances, a washer/dryer setup, high-speed internet, an outdoor hot tub, and an outdoor fire pit. The resort will eventually feature approximately 30 cabins and a spa.

For skiers, the new development is close to two ski resorts. It’s less than a mile away from Timberline Mountain’s base area, which has become a well-run ski resort since its revival in 2020. Located 4.6 miles away is Canaan Valley Resort, which is a respectable ski resort in its own right. The units are expected to cost $175 per night during the offseason, and between $350 and $400 per evening during ski season.
