Wyoming — It looks like Beartooth Basin fans will need to wait at least a few more days than anticipated to get their turns in.
Yesterday, Austin over at Beartooth Basin Ski Area provided an update on their opening efforts. With the Beartooth Highway getting cleared of snow, they’ve been able to bring trailers in. The plan is to open the Beartooth Highway, which services the ski area, today (Friday, May 23rd).
Originally planning to open on May 26th (Memorial Day), Beartooth Basin now has its projected opening date being May 28th at the earliest. Currently on the to-do list is preparing the slopes and lifts, and doing some final training with employees.
If you’re looking to learn more about the history of Bearooth Basin, the Cowboy State Daily wrote a great piece this week about the Wyoming ski area.
