Park City, Utah — Deer Valley Resort is getting ready to open the biggest ski resort expansions of all time.
After opening the first phase of their terrain expansions last winter, Deer Valley will be opening dozens of new trails and 7 new lifts next ski season. The signature lift will be the East Village Gondola. The lift will feature 10-person gondola cabins. It will start at the East Village and conclude at the top of Park Peak. The gondola will have a mid-station at Dutch Flat, which will give access to intermediate and advanced terrain. Eventually, it will be a four-stage gondola, with the other base terminal being at Snow Park.
Deer Valley provided an update on this project late last week, showing the base terminal being close to completion. As I saw when I visited last winter, they’ve made fast work on many of these lifts, such as the Galena Express and Pioche Express chairlifts.
Overall, Deer Valley is preparing to open 80 new trails, 7 lifts (not including the three chairlifts that opened last winter), and 700 new parking spots over at the East Village during the 2025-26 season. This will be on top of the 19 new trails, one trail extension (the McHenry piste), and 500 parking spots that opened during the 2024-25 season.
