Tuckerman Brewing is partnering with Mount Washington Observatory to make the new 6288′ Stout, set to release on April 12 to celebrate the annual Big Wind Day.
The new beer is now the official beer of the Mount Washington Observatory (MWOBS), with a portion of the proceeds of every can sold being donated to the MWOBS. The Big Wind Day celebration will be held at Tuckerman Brewing from 3:00pm – 6:00pm next Saturday.
Big Wind Day marks the anniversary of when a world record wind gust of 231 mph was measured by Mount Washington Observatory’s first weather team. The team consisted of Alex McKenzie, Sal Pagliuca, and Wendell Stephenson, and the record stood until 1996.
Tuckerman Brewing head brewer Seth went to the Mount Washington Observatory at the summit of the mountain to show off the new beer, taking a sip in the wind-scoured landscape.
