The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest, criminal conviction or civil penalty assessment regarding the illegal killing of a gray wolf near Sisters, Oregon.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service staff responded to a report of a death of an adult male gray wolf on March 10. The wolf was an adult breeding male of the Meolius pack.
In the western two-thirds of Oregon, gray wolves are listed as endangered species under the Endangered Species Act. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is leading an investigation into the incident in cooperation with the Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Division and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
