If there’s one way to get better at skiing or snowboarding, it’s hitting the slopes with people that are better than you. They can show you harder terrain, give you tips to improve, and generally provide a great example of what to do right. And though you might not want to admit it, there’s almost always going to be someone better than you on the mountain. We asked our Facebook followers who the best skier or snowboarder they’ve ever hit the mountain with was, and these were our favorite answers:

Drew D: “Skied with Jean Mayer owner of the St Bernard at Taos Ski Valley in 2013. He was 74 and I was 53 at the time. I couldn’t keep up with him!

Jill B: “I had a beer once with Franz Klammer, does that count?”

Cory B: “This month I got to ski with Glen Plake and then a couple weeks later Scot Schmidt. Got to ski with my childhood idols. I’m still smiling!”

Steve O: “Me. Which means that I have not skied with very good skiers…”

Gregg E: “Chris Davenport. What a skier, what a human.”

Naes N: “Ted Liggety. He didn’t know he was skiing with me and so left me in the white wake within 15 seconds. But there you go.

Mike D: “Fred Noble. Star of several Warren Miller and Dick Barrymore films and Powder Mag cover boy more than once. Also a personal friend. RIP Freddy!

Bob S: “(Sets mirror down) hmm not sure.”

Ben G: “Seth Morrison, didn’t exactly ski with him, he just ripped past me at about 50mph into the top of The Edge @ CB.”

Hans F: “Guy told me he was Rudi Garmisch but I didn’t see the resemblance.”

Mike F: “I’m the best skier on the mountain.”
